How to park
in the city centre

Calle Corrida is a pedestrian street. You cannot drive or park on the apartment's own street. This guide will help you find the most convenient option depending on your situation: how many nights you are staying, whether you are travelling with a caravan, or whether you prefer free parking even if it is a little further away.

On-street parking

Blue zone in the city centre

The streets adjacent to the apartment have a regulated blue zone. It is useful for stopping briefly on arrival to unload luggage, but not for longer stays.

Hours Days Max. time
9:00 – 14:00 Monday to Saturday 2 hours
16:30 – 20:00 Monday to Saturday 2 hours
Outside these hours Every day No limit

* Always check the traffic signs at the exact location, as they may vary from street to street.

Practical tips

On arrival: You may stop briefly on the adjacent street to unload luggage. Let us know in advance and we will point out the most convenient drop-off spot.

Saturday afternoons and Sundays: The blue zone is not in force. You can park for free on many nearby streets without a time limit.

EMT Gijón app: The municipal transport company has an app with information on public car parks and bus routes to get from free parking areas to the city centre.

Our recommendation: For stays of more than 2 nights, the nearest covered car park (Plaza del Carmen or Cimadevilla) is the most comfortable and stress-free option.

Free of charge

Free parking on the outskirts

Further from the centre, but completely free. Good options for longer stays combining the car with public transport. Gijón's bus network connects these areas well with the city centre.

Museo del Ferrocarril

Near Playa de Poniente there are two small car parks on Avenida José Manuel Palacio (formerly Avenida Juan Carlos I). The entire inbound lane is also free of the ORA scheme, though finding a space can be tricky.

Eastern area of the city. The surroundings of the Estadio del Molinón (on non-match days) and behind the Palacio de Deportes de la Guía (except Sundays) offer plenty of free parking spaces.

~25 min by bus to the centre

La Calzada · Playa del Arbeyal

In the La Calzada neighbourhood, next to Playa del Arbeyal, there is a large free car park with a dedicated area for caravans. Quiet and well connected.
